MAR aka Spencer Guilburt (b. 1974, California) “Blek Le Who?” – An acrylic painting with collage and spray paint on Blick canvas panel by the street artist MAR, paying homage to two who came before him. The title refers to Blek Le Rat, the French artist who has been described as the "father of stencil graffiti" and began painting stencils of rats on the walls of Paris streets in 1981. A map of Paris is the backdrop for MAR’s nod to Banksy’s 2004 “Love Rat” depicting a stencil of a rat brandishing a paintbrush with his paws having just finished painting a big heart. This heart features a multicolor version of MAR’s own fire flower/intersecting leaf motif. The 16 x 20-inch painting has been mounted and double matted in a black wood frame measuring 25.25 x 31.25 inches. Drip art
